*this review is solely based on how much i remember*
i have been craving chicken and waffles for SO long. don't know why or where it came from but it turned into a thing. i went out to boston with some friends and my boyfriend friday, and i had told my boyfriend that our goal was to get chicken and waffles at hen house regardless of how drunk i was. drunk me really enjoyed it, i enjoyed it so much that i also ate my boyfriends. i do remember trying the different sauces they had and not liking them so i stuck with the simple maple syrup. i got the whole pieces of chicken and he got the tenders i think. it's a fairly large place inside. a lot of people were there around the time we went which was i think 1:45 am or so. i remember it being super busy when we were leaving too, since they open till 4am i'm not surprised. all us drunk party goers leaving the club in need of some fried foods. i really don't remember if i liked it or not but boyfriend says i loved it. i should probably come back when i'm sober enough to savor my food -

For a place that makes Chicken & Waffles it's signature plate, you'd think they'd do a better job at making fried chicken that's actually delicious. The fried chicken here is very bland, what you would expect to get in a place where fried chicken is not their specialty, or signature meal, just something they occasionally have to cook up for the 1% of the customers that ask for the fried chicken buried at the lower corner of the menu. But that's not the case here, Chicken & Waffle is what these guys are all about and they don't even try to find a fried chicken recipe that will really stand out as delicious. It's like they are just mailing it in.
Too bad, because I LOVE well prepared Southern Fried Chicken, when it's done right, with the proper batter, it's a fantastic meal. Just don't expect to get that fried chicken at the Hen House. -

The Hen House Wings 'n Waffles, When I saw this place I had high hopes this place was gonna have some tasty goodies inside. But sadly that notion was left at the door.
The inside was like a high school cafeteria, roomy but boring. The menu went on & on & on, not necessarily a good thing.
The prices were pretty affordable. The place was generally clean. They take Credit Cards & is Wheelchair accessible.
The staff were not very welcoming and the lady behind the counter seemed extremely bored.
Now as for the food. since this was my first trip to a Chicken & Waffle house. I was excited, until I tried the food. Damn! what a let down. The chicken tenders were just OK. I was hoping for some juicy crispy chicken. It was limp & dry. The Collard Greens were a Salt Bomb, Fired Plantains was like eating fried cardboard I threw it away inedible. One bright note to this disaster was the Waffle sweet crunchy and very tasty.
Overall the food was just OK I wouldn't go here again. There were just more downs than ups here. -

The food here isn't amazing but it gets the job done. The fried chicken is really good and I really enjoy coming here late night. The people who work here can be kind of forgetful but once you take the first bite you forget all about their attitude lol. Decent place to eat, check them out especially late night.

Shut your hip mouth and eat the damn chicken and waffles!
No table clothes around here; expect only the best styrofoam enclosed faintly seasoned fried chicken wings and Mickey Mouse-esc waffles around here.
Real-talk: I wanted to walk into an east coast equivalent of LA's Roscoe's. Not so much. Okay that's setting the bar way too high. All said and done let's be frank, after about 10 beers down the street at Dorchester Brewery the Hen House would be amazing.
